  • Are electronic signatures acceptable?

Signing your document is still an important step in the filing process. Ultimately, the Clerk of Court will make the final call on the legitimacy of a signature.

With that being said, we have seen attorneys all across the state use a few different methods when signing their eFiled docs..

1) The “electronic signature block” as made famous by the Federal eFiling system.

For example:

                                       /s/ James Richard Bland IV

2) The good old fashioned “wet ink signature” followed by the scanning of your document.
3) The drag and drop method using an image of your signature.

*See USCR 36.16 (C) for all questions related to electronic signatures.
