🚨 First and foremost… We NEVER change a setting in the court profile without direction from the clerk’s office. 🚨
The court profile is the framework for every court we serve. It holds the clerk’s preferences for every single configurable setting that allows us to customize how we interact with each court.
Where to find the court profile?
- From the side menu in Diagnostics, click Court Setup > Profile
- Select your County and Court
A few important things this page can tell us….
- Does this court have civil eFiling?
- Does this court have criminal eFiling?
- Does this court allow criminal accusations to be eFiled?
- Does this court allow document access? And if so, is there a limit on age of purchasable documents?
- Does this court accept PAT (public access terminal) eFilings?
- Does this court allow pro se (self-represented non-attorney) eFilings?
- Does this court use FoxIt tools in the portal?
- Does this court restrict warrant cases?
- What is this court’s CMS (case management system)?
- What type of service options does this court allow?
- What party types does this court accept?
The most important tool on this page…. the document manager.
The document manager determines which civil and criminal document types are available for selection by filers and whether or not the document type receives a file stamp upon acceptance, is allowed for judge notifications, or is hidden from the docket. Settings are configured by simple checkboxes in each category.
Most commonly, we use this page to flip a stamp setting to remove or add a stamp to a particular document. For example, Miscellaneous may be set to receive a stamp, but a clerk may ask us to remove the stamp from one particular Miscellaneous document that has been filed. To do this, we uncheck the stamp option on this document type, remove the stamp from the one requested document, and then re-check that document type as quickly as possible. Here’s how…
- Locate the document type requested on the Document Manager tab. (CTRL+F in your browser is a lifesaver)
- Uncheck the Stamp box for the document type if it is a civil case you’re working with.
- Uncheck the Criminal Stamp box for the document type if it is a criminal case you’re working with.
- Click Save.
To add the stamp back, simply re-check that same box and click Save again.
